County Implements ‘Flu Hotline’
Posted: September 28, 2010
Residents will be able to access the Oneida County Health Department’s ‘Flu Hotline’ beginning today, in order to receive the latest influenza information and a listing of all Oneida County Health Department flu immunization clinics, Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr. announced.
“We established the hotline last year during the H1N1 pandemic and found it to be a useful tool in keeping the public informed throughout the flu season,” Picente said. “The most up-to-date information on scheduled clinics and tips on how to avoid getting the flu will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
Callers can reach the hotline by dialing 798-3600. Clinic times and locations will be announced each week for that week and refer the caller to the County’s web site where they can schedule their own flu shot.
Picente also announced that two ‘Family Flu Clinic’ dates had been added to the previously released schedule of 26 clinics being held throughout the county beginning October 1st.
Children 6-months through adults can schedule a flu shot at one of two Family Clinics to be held on Saturday, October 9th and Saturday October 30th from 9:30 am to 11:30 am each day.
For adults without insurance there will be a $25 charge for the flu shot.
