Maternal Child Health
This program promotes the health and well-being of women, infants and children through education and outreach with providers, agencies and the community. Areas of education include:
- Birth Outcomes
- Breast Feeding/Infant Feeding
- Pregnancy and Parenting Referrals
Staff is available to help pregnant women determine if they are eligible for assistance through Prenatal Medicaid. Prenatal Medicaid can assist income eligible women, both insured and uninsured, with high co-pays, out of pocket costs and insurance for their newborns. Women who would like more information should call 798-5747 and ask for the MCH program.
Women can check the weight of their baby and meet with a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) to discuss any breastfeeding concerns or problems.
