Volunteer Projects: School Supply Giveaway

 

Summary: The School Supply Giveaway packed the Sergeant Eli Parker Community Youth Center on Thursday August 20, 2009. Youth volunteers put school supplies in the book bags, organized the book bags for the giveaway, served food, participated in fun activities with the children and organized drawings for free prizes that were given away. The day long event was a huge success due to the efforts of the youth volunteers. Over 350 school-aged children received book bags filled with all the essential school supplies for the 2009-2010 school year. The youth volunteers had a lot of fun and felt their efforts were rewarding because the initiative helped so many people.
