Driver Licenses

     Written Tests 9:00 AM - 3: 30 PM M-F
     Foreign language tests 9:00 AM - 2: 30 PM M-Thurs.
     Oral Permit tests are given the 1^st Wednesday of the month by 
     appointment only.
     CDL written tests and endorsement testing is done daily 9:00AM - 2: 00 PM

License Fees

     Class DJ permits- $72.50 - $85.00 depending on age
     Class D permits -  $62.50 - $75.00
     Class D license renewal (8 year) - $50.00
     Class E license renewal  -  $90.00
     Class M license renewal - $50.00 (if with another class license $8.00)
     CDL license Class A, B, C -  $130.00
     Class D - coming from out of state  -  $42.50 - $60.00

Enforcement transactions involving suspended and/or revoked driving privileges are done 9:00 AM - 3: 30 PM M-F.

Test Fees

Class D, DJ and M- the fee for the permit test is included in the price of the actual permit.  We do not ask you to pay until you have passed the test

Class E-There is no test. You must fill out a form and pay an additional fee for the remaining time left on your license.

CDL licenses involve a $10.00 test fee and an additional $5.00 fee for each endorsement test added to an existing CDL license.

Road Tests

Road tests can be scheduled over the phone by calling 1-518-402-2100 (For hearing impaired 1-800-368-1186) for any location within NYS.

Class D and M road test fees are included in the cost of your permit

CDL license road tests require a $40.00 fee. (prior to scheduling)

Abstracts

A copy of your NYS driving record can be obtained directly from our office during normal business hours. This will print your license record for the last three years. The fee is $10.00. Specialty plates such as regional and sports plates are available from our office. We can also assist you in ordering any other type of custom plate .  New York has over 100 different kinds of custom plates.

All vehicles requiring registration renewals can be processed in our office except IRP ( International Registration Program) vehicles.

We also process renewal invitations that are mailed to our office. We encourage you to do so!

Registration fees are based on vehicle weight, the heavier the vehicle, the higher the fee. Commercial vehicles and regular passenger cars have 2-year registrations. Motorcycle, trailers, and other specialty registrations such as farm or agriculture registrations are for 1 year.  Boats, snowmobiles and ATV’s each have their own fee and time period depending on the class or type of vehicle.

Changing Ownership can be processed in our office with the appropriate forms 
and a $50.00 title fee.
