| As a truly dedicated
nursing professional, JoAnn enjoyed both a successful and rewarding
career in the local area and also a highly-regarded and well-deserved
reputation among colleagues, students, and patients alike. For a
period of 14 years, she was employed as an R.N. at the St. Elizabeth
Medical Center. She then accepted an appointment as a nursing
instructor for the Oneida County BOCES program. More recently she
held a professional position with Oneida County Health Dept. as Public
Health Educator. Over the course of her distinguished service in
the fields of nursing and health education, JoAnn was recognized with
numerous honors, including an award from the Komen Foundation for her
work with breast cancer programs, an Outstanding Leadership Award in
2002 from the American Cancer Society, and an award from the St.
Elizabeth School of Nursing Alumni honoring her for her professionalism
and dedication to nursing. JoAnn was a warm and generous woman with an outgoing personality, a giving spirit, and an affectionate heart: she greeted each day and everyone she met with a smile. Her affectionate, nurturing, and caring nature was nowhere more evident or more reciprocated than within her own home and family. She was a loving, concerned, and compassionate mother whose life revolved around her loved ones. In addition to her steadfast commitment to her children, she was also a best friend and loyal supporter to her sister. |
