Week Ending 8/1/03

Mosquito Surveillance:

A total of thirteen (13) mosquito pools were sent to Wadsworth Laboratory in Albany, NY for West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis testing for the week of July 28 thru August 1, 2003.

Bird Surveillance:

A total of thirteen (13) dead birds were reported to the Health Department for the week ending August 1, 2003.


Following is a list of areas where birds were reported from:

One of these birds met the criteria for West Nile Virus testing, and was shipped to the Wildlife Pathology Unit for testing.
