Special Delinquency Prevention Programs Also known as SDPP. This funding is provided to non-profits to serve a targeted youth population with the goal of preventing Juvenile Delinquency. Teen Aggression Reduction
A ten week series of group sessions to build aggression reduction skills
in teens; parents
are engaged in individual orientation as a group starts and a debriefing
session at the end of the series; serves youth/ families in western SDPP- This program offers one-on-one services for high risk
youth to prevent involvement or re-involvement with the justice system. Youth Aftercare Program
This program offers case management, support services and independent
living skills instruction for youth discharged back to the community from
juvenile justice placements.
Compeer for Kids
This program offers recruitment and training of volunteers for
mentoring friendships with children receiving mental health treatment.
Sexual Abuse Treatment Program
This program provides individual and family treatment of sexual abuse
for those not eligible to participate through the Department of Social
Services. Juvenile Perpetrators
This program provides group and family treatment for youth implicated
as perpetrators of sexual abuse. Partners in Prevention
This program offers individual and family therapy from a family system
approach to direct vulnerable youth towards completion of the Young
Scholars program. Probation Employment - This funding allocation is used exclusively for stipends to youth on probation who participate in meaningful private sector employment opportunities. Jail To Community Transition
This program supports coordination to transition youth, who complete
sentences at Oneida County Jail, into job training programs or
unsubsidized employment.
Sexual
Violence Services
This program offers rape crisis and domestic
violence services for victims and secondary victims. It includes a hotline
as well as accompaniment and advocacy with hospitals, law enforcement and
courts. Youth
Development Delinquency Prevention Programs This funding is also known as YDPP.
It offers 50% funding to municipalities and non-profits for Youth Service,
Initiative and Recreation programs.

TEEN
Passport
This in house program helps teens to
demonstrate a higher level of confidence in academics, job skills and
communication.
After
School Recreation
This
program offers structured activities including recreation, help with
homework and community service projects for youth age 5-15 who attend the
St. Martin de Porres Youth Center in the Cornhill area of
JCTOD
Outreach Childrens Center This program provides a safe, drop-in place with after-school and summer recreation for children in the Cornhill area. Many are from single parent, low income families. For more information contact: REV. MARIA SKATES 734-9608 Teen
Recreation/Services
This
program provides a caring community hub where teens can engage in
supervised recreational, intergenerational and educational activities and
receive support in crucial areas of their lives. Service
Health
and Safety
This
program provides health and safety prevention education for children/youth
in the Utica Chapter jurisdiction that covers fifteen school districts.
Issues like fire and burn prevention, home alone safety tips, choking and
babysitting training are all addressed. For

This collaboration with Faxton-St.Lukes
Healthcare provides tobacco prevention education to youth in grades K-6.
It deals with social, physical and peer implications. Better
Your Own Body
This is a youth development program
that recruits, trains and hires high school and college students to
facilitate group discussions with K-6th graders regarding the
social, nutritional, physical and drunk driving implications of alcohol. 4-H
Outreach
This youth development programming
utilizes Intergenerational Master Gardener, 4-H Government Interns and
Conservation Education Days to provide young people with role models and
meaningful participation in community awareness and problem solving
opportunities. For

Development Trainees
This program provides stipends for youth employment
opportunities in day care recreation and food preparation. Its on
going training and evaluation clarifies education and career goals. Outreach

Outreach
This program provides awareness and
prevention education information about sexual assault and domestic/dating
violence; reaches youth from pre-school to college to developmentally
challenged. Sheltered
Youth Project
This program offers a variety of
services that a family may need after departure from Hall House Domestic
Violence shelter. Those services include: crisis and short term
counseling, age appropriate recreational activities; return to school of
origin or re-enrollment in a new school, as well as follow-up and
referrals. For

This program provides
crisis mediation for youth and families. It also offers crisis
(short-term) shelter with OCFS certified Volunteer Interim Families as
well as referrals and advocacy with the goal of reuniting families. Transitional Life Skills

for homeless youth age 16-20 to improve their ability to function in
independent living situations. Self
Esteem/Life Skills This
program offers basic life skills training (cooking, budgeting, household
management) and a focus on developing communication and relationship
