Picente: Flags at Half-Staff to Honor William Bellinger

Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr., today announced that the flags at Oneida County ’s buildings will be lowered to half staff in honor of William Bellinger, a long-time Oneida County Legislator and a former chairman of the Oneida County Board of Legislators who died last week.

“William Bellinger gave many years of service to the people of Oneida County through the tremendous leadership he showed as the Chairman of the Oneida County Board of Legislators and the very concerned, committed representation he provided to his Westmoreland district,” Picente said. “Bill Bellinger helped to make County Government better able to serve the people of this area by ensuring that the business of the Board of Legislators was conducted in a professional, public manner that helped bring added respect to County Government and its work. He was a great gentleman and an outstanding public servant. By lowering the flags we are showing a dedicated public and community servant the type of respect he deserves – and the same respect he always showed to members of the Board and the public.”
