Youth volunteers volunteered their time helping out in the kitchen; preparing and serving meals and cleaning up afterwards. They also pitched in and performed receptionist’s duties; answering the phone and taking messages. Their efforts played an invaluable role in the daily operation of this non-profit.

Also, throughout the year, youth volunteers continually cleaned the neighborhood. They picked up trash, recycled when called for and swept the sidewalks and parking lot on the corner of Elm and Eagle Streets. They also cleaned the playground at the DeSales Center located at 309 Genesee Street. Their efforts not only approved the appearance, but made the playground and neighborhood safer for the children to play. Tenants from the DeSales Center and DeSales Center staff remarked that the grounds never looked so good. They also stated that it was nice to see children of all races working together volunteering their time.
