ONEIDA COUNTY COVID-19 UPDATE 11-24-21

PLEASE NOTE: Oneida County offices will be closed to the public on 11/25 and 11/26 in observance of the holiday. COVID numbers will not be reported on Thanksgiving, and only total case numbers from 11/24 and 11/25 will be reported on 11/26. Full detailed data will be released again on 11/29.

“As we gather with loved ones once again this Thanksgiving, please remember that COVID-19 is still with us,” said County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. “Please review vaccination status with your family and friends and take the necessary precautions to safeguard vulnerable guests from those who are unvaccinated. Let’s ensure that our celebrations remain safe, healthy and happy.”

Here are the Oneida County COVID-19 case numbers as of midnight on Nov. 23.

  • 205 new positive cases, 32,660 total.
  • 1,650 active positive cases.
  • 6.7 positivity rate.
  • No new COVID-19-related deaths, 530 total.
  • 2,697 are in mandatory isolation & quarantine.
  • 81 Oneida County residents are hospitalized.
    • 58 unvaccinated/23 vaccinated
    • 60 at MVHS
    • 9 at Rome Health
    • 12 out of county
      • 14 of total hospitalized are in the ICU.
        • 13 unvaccinated/0 vaccinated
      • 9 of total hospitalized are on ventilators.
        • 9 unvaccinated/0 vaccinated
      • 6 of total hospitalized are from long-term care facilities.
        • 1 unvaccinated/5 vaccinated
    • Hospitalization vaccination status by age:
        • 0-12 years-old: 2 unvaccinated/0 vaccinated
        • 13-19 years-old: 2 unvaccinated/0 vaccinated
        • 20-29 years-old: 3 unvaccinated/0 vaccinated
        • 30-39 years-old: 3 unvaccinated/0 vaccinated
        • 40-49 years-old: 6 unvaccinated/2 vaccinated
        • 50-59 years-old: 5 unvaccinated/1 vaccinated
        • 60-69 years-old: 11 unvaccinated/5 vaccinated
        • 70-79 years-old: 16 unvaccinated/9 vaccinated

      • 72% of the patients currently hospitalized are unvaccinated.
      • The average age of the unvaccinated patients currently hospitalized is 60 years-old.
      • The average age of the vaccinated patients currently hospitalized is 72 years-old.
      • Of the vaccinated patients currently hospitalized, 91% are at least 6 months past full vaccination.
