Overview

Adoption Services are provided to legally freed children in need of permanent homes.

Staff assess and prepare children for meeting potential adoptive families, engage in multi-faceted recruitment efforts on behalf of the children, and identify approved adoptive families as placement resources.  In addition, Adoption staff monitor adoptive placements and work closely with the court system to finalize adoptions in a timely manner.  Services are also provided to teens that have chosen to live independently beyond the foster care system.  Services provided include independent living skill training. These services are critical for a successful transition of young adults from placement to living independently in the community.  Adoption staff also provide information and referral services for post-adoption issues and adoption information inquiries.
