Fire Police Review Class
This class will consist of information pertaining to the latest Laws & Procedures for Fire Police when operating at a Fire Incident or Accident.

Basic Exterior FF Operations (BEFO)
This course prepares new firefighters to operate under direct supervision in the exterior or non-IDLH areas of the fire scene. Students participate in training covering firefighter personal protective equipment (PPE), self-contained breathing apparatus inspection and cylinder changing, fire department communications, building construction and fire behavior, modern fire control research, portable fire extinguishers, rope and knot tying, ground ladders, forcible entry, tactical ventilation theory, water supply, hose and fire streams, loss control, orientation to fire origin and cause determination, fire prevention and life safety initiatives, confined space awareness, overview of first aid and buddy care, and Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations.  Graduates should be committed to exterior firefighting operations only. This course will not place the student in IDLH or contaminated atmospheres.

On-Scene Rehabilitation for Emergency Responders (OREO)
This course explains the why, when and how of rehabilitation for emergency responders (firefighters, hazardous materials, EMS, technical rescue, ice and water rescue, etc.). The course shows how and when to meet the requirements of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1500 Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Chapter 6-6, NFPA 1561 Emergency Services Incident Management System Chapters 2-8 and 9.

Traffic Incident Management System
Traffic incident management is the process of coordinating the resources of a number of different partner agencies and private sector companies to detect, respond to, and clear traffic incidents as quickly as possible to reduce the impacts of incidents on safety and congestion, while protecting the safety of on-scene responders and the traveling public.

Highway Safety for Emergency Responders
Students completing this course will have an awareness of the serious nature of highway crash scenes and the hazards associated with them. Students will have an understanding of the four phases of traffic control that take place in the first hour. They will also possess the ability to select and place the appropriate traffic control devices for various crash sites. Other topics covered are: stopping sight distance requirements for vehicles across a broad range of speeds, how to establish various traffic control zones, where to stand and how to direct traffic.

Interior Firefighting Operations (IFO)
SCBA / Interior Firefighting Operations-NYS Firefighter-1 course is a comprehensive program that prepares the BEFO graduate to respond to emergencies as an interior structural firefighter under the direct supervision of a company officer. This course also assists the BEFO graduate in accomplishing the remaining objectives of NFPA 1001 and trains them as an interior structural firefighter in accordance with OSHA regulations 1910.156 Fire Brigade Standard and 1910.134 Respiratory Protection Standard. This course utilizes the IFSTA Essentials of Fire Fighting and Fire Department Operations, 6th Edition to accomplish the objectives of NFPA 1001. The program uses segments of the NYS SCBA Confidence and Firefighter Survival courses to meet the objectives of NFPA 1001 while enhancing the students’ ability to survive a structural firefighting emergency.
Course Outline: The course will be 16 Units in length.

Fire Police
Trains fire police to perform their duties more effectively. It includes defining and interpreting terms, oath of office, relation to regular police officers, general duties, maintaining safe conditions at an emergency traffic direction and control, preplanning, and various laws of interest to the fire service. Under the provision of General Municipal Law, Section 209-c, this course, when approved by OFPC, must be completed by every fire Police Officer who was appointed after September 1, 1980.
